Forty-three years ago, the fire department purchased a 1983 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe to serve as an equipment truck. Throughout its service, the truck was used for transporting equipment and personnel, converted into a brush truck, and fulfilled various other roles. Training on new equipment
Pembroke Fire, June 17
On Tuesday, June 16, the Fire Department conducted a training exercise at the New River to practice with a new piece of equipment known as a Turbo Draft. This device is designed to help supply water to fire trucks, especially in rural areas where hydrants may not be available.
